I love the fact that nothing is impossible with God. He could heal, deliver, and save the whole world and not be diminished one bit; not an inkling of His power would need "recharged." But on a more personal scale, it blows my mind that a God so powerful He spoke the universe into existence cares about each of us on an individual level. It's truly mind boggling...1 Pet 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
We can give all our cares, fears, and anxieties to Him, because He truly does care about us, not just to get us saved, though that is His primary focus. Yet, in addition to salvation, He loves and cares for us.
Acts 8:5 - Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
Here we see the grandeur of God, the extreme majesty and power of the gospel message. A whole city was turned upside down (or right-side up depending on your vantage point) through the power of the gospel. Philip had an awesome kingdom experience and saw miracles, signs, and wonders, and the people obeyed the gospel (1 Cor 15:1, Acts 2:38) and were saved...
But then we come to this passage...
Acts 8:26 - And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
WOW!!! In the middle of a great outpouring the Spirit leads Philip into the middle of the desert!!! Yet, there was an Ethiopian there who needed to hear the gospel...
Because of God's great love for us, He's willing to stretch the limits, go the distance, and save a whole city, or an individual in the middle of nowhere. What an awesome God we serve!!! He cares enough to reach the masses, and He cares enough to reach down and touch you and me right where we're living!!!
